Nau mai ki roto i to whanau, Ata Mangu

He Oranga Whanau Te Tairawhiti and Te Ao Hou Trust are stoked to welcome our second Kairuruku Punaha, Ata Mangu, into our Turanga tari. 

Raised in the heart of Ngati Porou, Ata brings pride, a strong love for home and her people, and an awesome attitude. She loves a challenge, and loves to challenge! She describes her strengths as being a critical thinker, an intentional observer, considerate and deliberate. 

For Ata, being grounded and strong in her identity is what allows her to live a more fulfilling life. Knowing who she is and where she comes from means she always knows where to go when she needs to heal, reset, or simply feel whole again. 

She thrives on strategic thinking and execution, testing ideas and being creative in the way that outcomes are produced. 

Movement and hauora have always driven her, and now that passion fuels everything she brings to the mahi.  

Always keen to try something new, chasing that next challenge on and off the field. Her two tamariki have given her more of a reason to live a fulfilling life, to ensure they are grounded in their Ngati Poroutanga, and tread through life knowing that nothing is more important than being kind, and being staunch in who they are. 

Her favourite whakatauki says it best: "Tera te haeta e takiri ana mai ki runga o Hikurangi." The first break of light on Hikurangi, symbolising a new day, and new beginnings.
